Weekly Update -- Oct 25 I've ran several river guide trips since last outing, all productive. The prolonged summer-like weather is keeping some river smallies in warm water patterns, while others are gradually moving into late fall spots. With the arrival of fall weather, river smallies will be moving into the autumn locations, with walleyes adding to the mix. The promise of great late fall fishing is near, so contact me now to set up a trip!

River Report -- Weekly Update Oct 18 We've run many trips since last update. Autumn fishing is progressing nicely, with plenty of quality-sized smallmouth bass in the mix. Water temperatures are slowly dropping, and bass are gradually moving into their classic late-fall locations. As of today (Oct 18) water temperature is around 57 degrees. We should be in late fall patterns within a week or two...BIG BASS TIME!!!

Weekly River Update -- Oct 9 I've been on the water most days the past week, running trips and also enjoying the fine fall fishing with family and friends. Even thought the water temperatures remain warm, river smallies are starting to show up in traditional late-fall spots. And there are still plenty of fish using shallow, faster current areas. We are getting lots of bass, plenty of 15-20 inchers, and a few nice walleyes in the mix. Lots of trips are booked this fall, but plenty of open dates remain. If you're interested in a fall outing give me a shout!

River Update -- Oct 2 Several river guide trips have passed since my last update. As the days have shortened, and the water slowly cools, more and more bigger bass are showing up in the mix. We've been getting good numbers of 15-20 inch smallies on all trips the past week, a trend likely to continue as conditions cool off further. No telling how long the fall big-fish bite will last ( though typically it extends well into November)so schedule a trip now!

River Report -- Sept. 23 Tom and grandson Luke made the trip up from the Pgh area to put in a full day on the middle Allegheny. Good early morning bite, with several quality-sized smallies coming on soft jerbkatis. Things got tougher after the fog cleared and the cloudless sky appeared. Later in the day we had good action on Bass Pro Shops Speed Shad and Gailida's Grubz (fished as a swimbait). Water's low, clear and back up to 75 degrees.

Sept 9 --Regular client Tom and son Ryan made the trek up from the Pgh area for a full day trip. Slower action today than recent trips have experienced, but they worked hard and landed some nice smallies. Everything today in the 10 to 15 inch range. Most of them on River Darters. Water temp was down to 62 degrees when we left the ramp this morning but back up to 65 degrees by late afternoon. Fairly low and clear.

River Update -- Sept. 8 Back on the middle Allegheny after a couple lower Allegheny scouting trips for muskies. Smallies a bit less aggressive today, likely due to the 6-8 degree drop in water temperature. But we still had a great day. "Big Fish Tom" and brother "Fish-on John" boated 40-50 bass. No toads today, but plenty of nice 15-17 inchers. All on Rapala X-Raps and soft jerkbaits

River Report -- July 9 With improving water clarity and falling river levels, the middle Allegheny is now fishing like it typically does during the summertime. Active fish chasing down moving baits. Today's trip yielded dozens of smallmouth bass, including lots in the 15 to 19 inch range. A couple nice bonus walleyes as well. Bass Pro Shops' Speed Shad, Winco's River Darter and Rapala X-Raps scored big time. I'm booked solid through the end of this month, but have openings in the schedule in August.
