LATE SUMMER UPDATE: It's been a productive summer with consistent fishing kicking in around mid-June.  The water has been low, clear and warm throughout much of the summer, though thunderstorm activity has riled up at a couple times.  Good numbers most trips, with fish hitting moving baits such as Rapala X-Raps and Winco Solid Body River Darters.  As late August higher numbers of quality-sized smallmouth -- ones over 15 inches -- are showing up.

Also, beginning next year I'll be adding some new water to my guide service.  Trips will be available that launch out of Kennerdell (in addition to East Brady and Parker/Foxburg areas).

Finally, I've created a Facebook page under "Keystone Connection Fishing Guide Service."  I'll be posting fishing reports as well as other timely matters there.  Regular fishing reports will continue to be posted on this site as well.

A key focus of the Keystone Connection is jet-boat fishing adventures on portions of the middle Allegheny River.  Skimming through shallow river sections, you’ll have access to miles of lightly-fished waters.  Smallmouth bass are available from April to December.  Typical whole-day trips on the middle Allegheny cover 12 to 15 miles of river.

VISIT THE "FISHING REPORTS" PAGE FOR THE LATEST ON KEYSTONE CONNECTION "GUIDE WATERS!"

NOTE: CATCH AND RELEASE FOR ALL BASS OUTINGS (and incidentally caught muskies).

If your interest leans toward learning bass-catching tactics on Western Pennsylvania’s hard-fished reservoirs, consider spending a day on Armstrong County’s Keystone Lake or Venango County’s Kahle Lake. Keystone’s clear water and deep weed growth provides a perfect venue for learning finesse presentations that take smallmouth and largemouth bass that see a lot of baits. Despite its small size, Kahle Lake harbors a fine largemouth fishery including five-pound plus fish. With extensive weed growth of several types, Kahle is a great place to practice a variety of tactics.
